Francisco Lourenço (Évora, 1991) is an artist living and working in Lisbon. Has a bachelor and a master's degree in Painting by the Faculty of Fine-Arts of the University of Lisbon. Has also worked as an animator, visual effects artist and motion designer in cinema and advertisement.
Francisco Lourenço creates video installations showing scenes of unusual landscapes frozen in time despite their constant motion. The underlying vibration of these landscapes and the manipulation of the elements in the videos results in a representation of nature defined by a highly subjective human look. Their work is characterized by a deep appreciation for the inherent humor and emotion of the natural world, as well as a desire to explore non-destructive ways in which humans can interact with the environment.
